In Kos, opposite Knidos, two temples in the Aphrodite sanctuary at the harbor are archaeologically proven: Aphrodite pandemos and Aphrodite pontia were worshiped in the same area, each in her own temple, dated to the mid-3rd century BC.

Sheep and goats were among the most popular sacrifice animals in Antiquity. Nowadays they can spread a peaceful atmosphere at ancient sites. What is seen here is not possible anymore since the temple was subject to renovation and is fenced now - including a ticketing office. Photo taken 2017.

You don't need to know much to be impressed by the Acropolis of Lindos. This monumental rock with its cave and the two natural harbors is one of the most impressive places in the Aegean.
